Variety in Baking: Adding Butter to Your Protein Cookies

Wanting to add a touch of richness to your protein cookies? At Variant Nutrition, we're all about versatility in baking. Whether you choose to make the entire batch with butter or just half, here’s how it can bring balance and flavor to your baking:

The Benefit of Using Butter:

Many traditional cookie recipes use butter for its ability to add a subtle richness and enhance the structure of your cookies, resulting in a delightful texture and enhanced taste. Butter also makes the dough easier to handle by binding the ingredients together, reducing stickiness.

While we appreciate the simplicity and calorie-free nature of using water, we also understand the appeal of adding more calories for enhanced flavor and variety. Opting for a full-fat butter option is one approach, but if you're mindful of calories, a light butter option at 35 calories per serving is a great alternative. Spread across 7 servings (2 cookies per serving), it adds only 20 calories per serving.

Enjoy Raw or Baked:

You don't have to bake them either! Enjoy our protein cookie dough with butter raw for a rich and creamy treat as butter can be safely enjoyed without heat.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup softened butter

  • 2 tbsp water (may need an additional tsp)

Directions:

  1. Combine the softened butter and water with our protein cookie mix.

  2. Stir until the dough reaches a smooth consistency.

  3. Shape and flatten your cookies, then enjoy them raw or bake at 350°F for 6-8 minutes for a more traditional cookie texture.

  4. Allow to cool on a rack if baked, then enjoy your delicious, protein-packed cookies!

Explore another way to enjoy our versatile protein cookie mix, whether you choose to stick with water or add a touch of butter for extra richness. Happy baking (or no-baking)!
